Introduction to FIABCI-Taiwan
(World Real Estate Federation Taiwan Chapter)
The Chinese Real Estate Association was officially established in Taipei in January 1972, with Mr. Yin Chih-Hao serving as its first chairman. The organization was founded to align with national policy, actively participate in international conferences to promote diplomatic engagement, assist the government in developing real estate-related laws and systems, and promote the development of the real estate industry.
In 1974, the association joined the World Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) and established the FIABCI Taiwan Chapter (FIABCI-Taiwan).
Under successive chairpersons, FIABCI-Taiwan has organized numerous important international events, including the 4th FIABCI World Congress held in Taipei in 1978, the 6th FIABCI Asia-Pacific Regional Conference held in Taichung in 2003, and the 64th FIABCI World Congress held in Taichung in 2013.
These international conferences brought together distinguished guests from FIABCI member countries as well as representatives from Taiwan’s real estate industry, government, and academia. Experts from around the world were invited to lead forums and present research papers, helping local professionals better understand global real estate trends.
These events not only enhanced Taiwan’s international visibility and attracted potential foreign investment but also improved the country’s architectural standards and contributed to its reputation as a hub for sustainable innovation.
To promote national land development planning, improve building quality, enhance living environments, and foster community culture, FIABCI-Taiwan has organized the “National Excellence in Construction Awards” since 2006. This program recognizes outstanding construction projects from both government and private sectors in Taiwan and recommends winning entries to participate in the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards.
This initiative has significantly contributed to improving the overall quality of Taiwan’s real estate and construction industry.
